Re-coating of wood floors
If you have a wood floor that is a newer type, not over 10-12 years old, you should know that those products were made with an aluminum oxide finish coat and it has to have special preparation of the surface for the additional coat of finish to properly adhere. If not done properly then it can become a major nightmare for the owner of that floor. A word to the wise, if you will, to save you the inherent problems that have plagued others who have unknowingly made this mistake.

Before you install your floor.
It is imperative that you have any person you choose to install your new floor to check your sub-floor for moisture content and not allow any installation until either the sub-floor is within specifications or it is sealed with a proper concrete sealer that has a warranty for its use with your product.
